One of the great strengths of the Blu-ray Disc Association is the breadth of companies and market sectors that it encompasses. From Hollywood Studios to consumer electronics manufacturers and disc replicators, the BDA can provide expert opinions in every area of the format and its application to the European home entertainment market.

Frank Simonis is Senior Director Communications at Philips Intellectual Property & Standards. As Chairman of the BDA European Promotions Committee, Frank has a superb strategic overview of the BDA’s strategy and can provide an enthralling insight of the rapid progress this exciting technology is making in the European market.
Steve Foulser is Vice President Marketing and Business Development: EMEA at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. Steve is at the forefront of moves within the BDA to increase Blu-ray’s brand awareness in Europe and is one of the figures leading the outreach campaign that is currently targeting mainstream European consumers.
David Walstra is Director, Sony Home Video Europe. Utilising many years experience introducing new technologies and formats within Sony operations, David is a leading authority on the Blu-ray format and the opportunities it presents a range of different organisations. One of David’s many areas of interest includes European independent film distributors and publishers. He has helped many organisations to kick start their Blu-ray business models.
Fabrizio Ferrucci is the general Director and CEO of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Italia since 1996. Today he heads up Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s Blu Ray Disc business team – the first major in Italy that distributed movies in this new format. Before entering SPHE Fabrizio Ferrucci worked for RCA contributing to the launch of the compact disc format in Italy. Fabrizio Ferrucci professional activity is very active on the institutional side. For four years he has been President of FAPAV (The Italian federation for anti-piracy). In this role he promoted the agreement against the digital piracy which was then signed by the representatives of the government, associations and companies representing telecommunications, connectivity providers, producers and distributors of protected contents. He has been Univideo - Italian Audiovisual publishing Union - Vice President, The association is part of Confindustria and is active in the home entertainment sector. In July 2007, together with Mr. Roberto Lisot - Philips and Anie ass. Ict-Ce Vice President – Ferrucci founded the Blu-ray Disc Association in Italy, an organisation created with the scope to increase and develop the knowledge of this new standard and inform consumers on the potentiality and characteristics of this new product. The associated companies that joined Sony Pictures home entertainment and Philips are: Panasonic Italia, Philips Italia, Sharp Italia, Sony Italia, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Walt Disney-Buena Vista, Warner Home Entertainment, Sony DADC, and SonyBMG Music.
